Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility - Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs - Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas - Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor - Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff - Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules and medical treatments - Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming - Handle animals safely and securely -Maintain hopital facilities inside and out through proper cleaning to include laundry, trash removal, sweeping/mopping, window cleaning, cleaning exam and treatment areas etc.
Skills:
- Experience in dog training or animal handling is preferred, however, we will train the right person.
- Knowledge of basic veterinary care and procedures is a plus - Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks - Strong customer service skills for interacting with pet owners and addressing their concerns - Familiarity with kennel operations and pet care best practices - Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion, and confidence - Knowledge of animal restraint techniques for ensuring safety during procedures or examinations This position requires a genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
