WELCOME CENTER ASSOCIATE PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION The purpose of this classification is to assist with the operations of the Welcome Center.
This position reports to the Welcome Center Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties are normal for this position.
The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Greets visitors to the Welcome Center and assists with questions they may have.
Responds to all incoming telephone call on the main line.
Maintains accurate counts of visitors and assists with producing monthly reports on Welcome Center traffic and activities.
Maintains appearance and organization of the Welcome Center.
Maintains appropriate inventory of all brochures on the presentation racks.
Maintains inventory county and selling of promotional items.
When possible, assists with special events.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires a high school diploma or GED or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must have superior customer service skills as well as strong inter-personal skills with the public.
Must have good organizational skills and provide strong attention to detail.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and performing internet searches.
Must have basic mathematical skills to enable tracking inventory and selling promotional items.

Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements:
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals.
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
